English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.

These three athletes have been celebrated for their outstanding achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The shortlisted athletes were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The 2025 recipient will be revealed live on the annual sports awards show on Thursday, 18 December.

The ceremony will be broadcast from seven in the evening GMT.

Michelle Agyemang

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is incredible," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

He didn't stop there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a highlight for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the season's run tally and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it inspires more young females to get into cricket."
