Public Response
Mourners gathered over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Funeral details for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

The event prompted the Trump administration to pause asylum applications and cease providing visas to holders of Afghan passports.
