Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients
Prosecutors report that a former physician now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
A senior prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

The charging documents outline the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
