Beloved Performer Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who featured in popular programs such as "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat never met a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a statement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a regular part on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a party host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits are "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team called "Beer Shark Mice".
"He taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared publicly.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
